Asa Biggs House

Williamston, NC

The Asa Biggs House is an 1835 Federal and Greek Revival home in Williamston, North Carolina, built and lived in by Asa Biggs – lawyer, legislator, U.S. Senator, and federal judge. Enslaved people lived and labored here during the Biggs family’s residency, shaping the daily operations of the household. The site later witnessed Civil War occupation by Union troops and today stands as a preserved landmark within the Williamston Historic District, maintained by the Martin County Historical Society and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
